The lower-case t is on purpose. A lot of talking continues while the same people keep getting sicker. We put Black San Diegans and the people who run the health system in the same room, and we keep a record of what gets said.

Let’s talk Black Health and Diaspora exists to close the gap in healthcare outcomes for Black communities through education and legislative reform. We convene the people living with the consequences and the people with authority over the system, in the same room, on the record.
It started after a denied venue blocked a screening of Marlon Riggs’ Color Adjustment. That refusal became the point: the conversation was not going to be hosted for us, so we started hosting it ourselves.
