Meet BukiDomingos

Founder · Nurse · Artist · Advocate

Buki Domingos is a singer, songwriter, and nurse based in Germany and the United States. Over more than twenty years in music, her album To God in Prayer and the single A Better World & Trust have found audiences across Africa, Europe, and the U.S. She has performed as a backing vocalist for Sir Elton John and appeared in Germany’s premier televised shows.

She founded Let’s talk Black Health and hosts the podcast Alafia Voices of the African Diaspora, where she keeps the conversation about health and heritage going between events.

A survivor of human trafficking, Buki advocates for awareness and change — work recognised by the 2019 KPBS Community Heroes Award and the 2020 Peacemaker Award.

“A survivor is not strong intentionally. A survivor is one who makes it through adversities somehow and finds the strength to live another day, each day at a time.”
